I’ve been a 4 Seasons customer for several years and always enjoy the wines they discover. I’ve tried received everything from amazing Cabernets to some wonderful Chardonnays. Every couple months I host a wine party with my friends to share these great wines.
My husband got this wine club for me last year for my birthday. He knew I wanted to learn more about wine and he figured this club would be a great way to expand my wine horizons. I’ve really been enjoying it… we like to write down tasting notes and see what we’re found. It’s a fun dinner activity.
I’ve been a member of Four Seasons (now Laithwaite Wines) for a number of years, and for the first few years the selection was wonderful. I used to receive a case of reds containing 4 bottles of 3 different wines each quarter. The wines were high-quality and already several years old.
In the past year or so (since the name change), the selections have been more broad — six or more different wine selections of only one or two bottles in each case. The vintages are very young now — 2009/2010s in my last shipment.
I will be searching for a new club as I don’t have room to store each case for an additional 2-3 years while it matures. I’m not saying that this is not a good wine club, I’m commenting that the quality used to be higher and has since declined slightly.
